Here's some excellent web sites that I like, and why.

All Star Games is where I buy all my RPG stuff. They've been terribly helpful in a number of ways. I also run my Shadowrun game in their space with occassionally one or two of their employees as players. The only place to buy RPG or CCG stuff in Southern California as far as I'm concerned. They have demos running most weekends and are willing to special order anything; if it exists, there's a good chance they can get it for you.

Of course, if you don't have FASA bookmarked and you play Shadowrun, well, go and do it now. They are a bit slow to update their page, but it's still a good source for info.

Blaze is actually partially to blame for this site. If I hadn't been asked to look her site over and then gotten it in my head to write a few things for her, I might never have come up with this site here. But it's a good site and she's got some interesting things to say.

Avenger is Blaze's partner in crime. A rather, er, chatty fellow who has some odd but interesting ideas. Maybe it's because he was found in a cave on the Isle of Wight, frozen millenia ago and only recently thawed out. I've worked with him on a number of ShadowTK stories and I, for one, am quite proud of them. Definitely worth taking a look-see. He's also been a tremendous help in getting this site active. Thanks dude, wherever you are these days.

Deep Resonance is THE site for new toys for Shadowrun. I can remember searching the Shadowrun Archive section of the site back in 1993-4 (when it was it's own site) or so using Gopher, back when you could count on one hand the number of Shadowrun sites. Possibly the most complete Shadowrun site around. Also home of The Shadowrun Supplemental.

Gurth's Plastic Warriors is another solid site created by a solid guy. Best thing about this site is that it houses the NERPS books, of which I am proud to say I have contributed to a few of them. Ooodles of stuff here, so much that Gurth simply doesn't have enough room for it all. A shame, really.

The Shadowrun Web Ring is a pretty damn cool concept; even FASA is on it! Run by a very nice individual who goes by the nom de plume of Lady Jestyr, this place is a great location when you go searching for Shadowrun goodies on the Internet.

A guy I used to game with (mostly Shadowrun), Scott, has a site up that is interesting; has some SR stuff and a lot of his own fiction.

Non-Shadowrun related sites that I really really like.

Disinformation is an extremely cool site. Be careful though, and hang on tight to your sanity while visiting. Has all the information THEY don't want you to see...

The Onion is your source for alternative news. An alternative universe that is. If you like folks like Dennis Miller, if you are in need of a laugh but are a scarred, cynical bastard, this site will give you your fix once a week. Careful; if perused at work it may cause you to laugh out loud in your Dilbert-style cubicle, causing your boss to think you may be doing something other than work (you're laughing, right?).

For Mac users, there quite simply isn't the selection of games out there as there is for the Windoze market. It's getting better thanks to the iMac and Steve Jobs, but still has a lot of room for growth. So where's a Mac fanatic to go to find fun, cheap games? Fantasoft is the place. Best known originally for Realmz, that franchise has expanded to include Divinity, which allows any schmoe with time and creativity to create their own adventure modules for Realmz, the fantasy RPG.

There are some solid search engines out there, the best of which I think is HotBot. Raw power in action. Another excellent search site, and one that can be extremely useful is Ask Jeeves which is an example of a "smart" search agent. I tend to use it when searching for that proverbial needle in the haystack and Ask Jeeves often helps me find it.

I am a proud alumnus of the University of Arizona. Class of '95. Living here in Los Angeles means I have to turn to avenues other than the local news media to learn about by beloved Wildcats. One of the best sites to learn about Arizona Athletics, especially football, is Arizona Football Online, where you can find me signed on as "California 'Cat." It's also possibly one of the best interactive web sites out there; the message board system is it's best feature and it's extremely well done. You can click over to their Basketball Board from there also. Great people, great information.

I love music. Music is a major part of my life and I spend too much money on CD's. That's why CDNow is so great. One the one hand, they've got all sorts of obscure and odd discs in their massive catalogue. On the other, they are, even with shipping, usually cheaper than wandering down to the store and buying them in person. It's rare that I buy CD's at the store in person anymore; CDNow gets nearly all of my music money. I love these guys.

In fact, here's a search form right here for them so you can see if they have what you are looking for.
