Imagine if you will a small cafe, patrons sipping their tea or coffee, wearing natty berets and reading old volumes of poetry...

Now throw that image right out. Never done that in my life, never will. But here is where you'll find the short stories and poems that I've selected to present to the world.

One thing to keep in mind. I've not put any navigation or links of any sort on the pages containing the stories or poems; I felt they would detract from the look and feel. So you'll just have to use that trusty back button on your browser to bounce back here before wandering off anywhere else. Perhaps not a sign of good HTML etiquette or design, but it's what I wanted.

The two short stories were both written for different classes back in college. "Just the Morning" was inspired by the Lyle Lovett song of the same name. "The Cybernetic Butterfly" just sort of came to me in about a 48 hour fevered fit of inspiration the likes of which I've never had before or since. Amazing experience I must say.

The following poems, like all my poems, are intensely personal and are a record of my heart and soul at the time of writing them. Don't even think of asking for the details behind a poem, I won't even respond to the request. I will say this much; "The Sinking of the Titanic" was written before the film was even a twinkle in John Cameron's eye, so don't even go there. Perhaps I sound like a bit of a jerk, but these are very personal works. I know the history of the poem but you shouldn't need to in order to enjoy them.

Morag, Todd, if you find inspiration in any of these bits, feel free to adapt them to your style of music. Just make sure to give me proper credit, eh?

Simply enjoy the poems for what they are, expressions of joy, pain and anger.

They are:

A Ritual for the Summoning of Spirits

Funny Kind of Girl

Forever For Now

Rest in Peace

Seedlings.

The Idiot

The Question Why

The Sinking of the Titanic.

The Thief of Hearts

What Do You Know About Love?
