Regardless of how you found yourself here, welcome to the little nook of the Internet and the World Wide Web operated and maintained by me, Erik Jameson. Current news is kept on this page, a few paragraphs down. This is my first major revision, after long, long months of inactivity... This is a very text-driven site; there are very few pictures to be found. Right now, I'm very fond of the current, fairly clean and uncluttered layout of the site and it's heavy focus on content. If you would like more pictures, drop me an e-mail (a link is on the side of almost every page) and let me know. If the response is strong enough, I'll do some scanning and some Internet searches for appropriate images to add. This site has been written and tested around IE 4.xx. If there are compatibility problems with your browser, let me know and I'll see what I can do. Now onto the guts of the site. I have an intense dislike for pure vanity or ego pages (here's pictures of me, here's pictures of me on vacation in Cabo, here's pictures of me and my dog, blah blah blah, what's real content?) so I've placed all my vanity in a nice neat and tidy place in it's own corner. This is where you can learn a bit more about me, or avoid that sort of thing if you don't. Got a few links that I think are worth sharing over in this corner. I've written scads of poems and short stories over the years. I've placed a few of those, the ones I felt comfortable presenting to the public, here. These, especially the poems, are intensely personal and relate to specific periods of my life. Got a bunch more, but I think these are the best of the lot. If you are looking for Shadowrun related information, either click on the nav-bar to the left if you know what you are looking for, or scroll down to the logo and click there for the front page. News Well, as of Friday, May 7, I ended my nearly three year career in public relations. It's a long story, suffice it to say, and if you really want to know all of it, e-mail me privately. I'll just say that while there were some great co-workers, bosses and clients, the bad ones simply began to outnumber and outweigh the good ones. I had also reached the point where ethically I was having problems with some of the business. So what am I going to do now? A radical departure to be sure. I'm going to focus in on my writing and teach High School English. I'll have time to do some of the things I want to do, like write and box. I'll be able to pass along the love of the written word that teachers like Mr. Holmes and Mr. Root helped focus in me. And while I know teaching has it's own set of problems, I'd much rather be teaching and knowing I'm doing something right and, dare I say it, noble, than be a PR flack. I passed the CBEST on my first try out, so right now (end of July) I'm sending out applications and whatnot to L.A. schools and districts. I'm hoping to be hooked up by the middle of August. So what else is new?Coming up in the middle of August is the 1999 San Diego Comic-Con which is always a lot of fun. I GM'ed a SR "2.5" game there that seemed to go over pretty well in 1998 and while I may not be able to spend as much time or money down there in '99, I am planning on running one game of Shadowrun, probably on Saturday. If you are interested in participating, make sure to send me an e-mail. Currently, most of last year's players have signed on to play again this year, but there are still open slots.
On the topic of Shadowrun, by now Corporate Download should be in stores and you'll see my name in the credits of that book too, this time as an author. I've recieved an advanced copy of the book and it looks fantastic. Every megacorporation has it's own personality, there are all sorts of hooks and tasty tidbits for players and GMs and it just reads and looks great. I'm terribly proud to have been a part of this book. Buy it as soon as you can! If you look closely enough, you'll find my name among the list of Shadowrun Third Edition playtesters and among the Magic in the Shadows playtesters. What else can I say but terribly cool. On the one hand, it is sometimes difficult not to shout out to the world how cool something new contained in the playtest documents is, that the rest of the world won't see for months. On the other hand, well, Mike Mulvihill (Shadowrun Line Developer) is trusting me and the rest of the group not to shout it out atop that mountain top. Aside from my love for Shadowrun, Mike just seems like a cool dude and I wouldn't want to mess with him or that trust. A quick thanks to everyone that has visited my site, sent me comments and been patient with me and this web site.
